Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church has the honor to invite you to an important cultural event:
launch of a new volume of poems by Gellu Naum, translated into English.
The launch will take place at our church, located at 714 N American St. Philadelphia, PA 19123, on Sunday March 30, 2014, at 12:30 pm.
The event will be attended by the two translators of the volume, poets Martin Woodside and Chris Tanasescu. They will read some poems of the great Romanian poet.   

Gellu Naum (August 1, 1915 – September 29, 2001) is recognized worldwide as one of the most prominent representatives of European Surrealism.

The joy of this literary afternoon will be doubled  by the treat of the Philadelphia String Quartet's concert, held on this occasion.


The Sacrament of Holy Unction  

The Sacrament of Holy Unction was held Friday, December 6, 2013, on Saint Nicholas’ Feast Day, in our church (located at 714 N American St. Philadelphia, PA 19123), at 7 pm. The Holy Unction was performed by seven Orthodox clergymen: Father Daniel Adrian Ene, of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Victor - Rochester, NY; Father Mark Sheen, of St. Andrew’s Russian Orthodox Church in Philadelphia, PA; Father Ovidiu Sabău of St. Andrew’s Romanian Orthodox Church in Reading, PA; Father Marius Dumitrescu of St. Nicholas’ Romanian Orthodox Church in Sunnyside, NY; Father Georgian Voicilă, temporary priest of The Life-Giving Fountain Romanian Orthodox Church in Rockaway, NJ. The local clergy men were also present: Father Nicolai Buga, rector of the parish that hosted the event, and Father Deacon Timothy Avram, president of the Parish Council. Believers had the rare opportunity to worship the relics of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine and the coffin-cloths of Saint Martyr Philothea, brought by Fr. Daniel from Curtea de Argeș.
